Prenatal Visits
Choosing a Pediatrician Before Your Baby Arrives
Congratulations on your growing family!
Welcoming a new baby is exciting, but it can also bring many questions and decisions. One of the most important choices you'll make before delivery is selecting a pediatrician who will care for your child from birth through childhood.
At Cradle Thru College Care, we offer
free prenatal visits for expectant parents to help you get to know our practice, meet our providers, and feel confident about your baby's care before delivery.
What Is a Prenatal Visit?
A prenatal visit is an opportunity to meet with one of our pediatric providers before your baby is born. During this visit, we'll discuss what to expect in the first days, weeks, and months of your baby's life and answer any questions you may have.
Best of all, prenatal visits are completely free of charge, giving you the opportunity to learn about our practice and determine if we're the right fit for your family.
Whether you are a first-time parent or adding another child to your family, we're here to support you every step of the way.
Topics We Commonly Discuss
During your prenatal visit, we can discuss:
- What happens after your baby is born
- Newborn care in the hospital
- Our newborn rounding services
- Feeding and nutrition
- Breastfeeding and pumping
- Formula feeding options
- Safe sleep recommendations
- Newborn screenings and vaccinations
- Common newborn concerns
- Scheduling your baby's first office visit
- Our office policies, hours, and after-hours support
We encourage parents to bring any questions they may have—there are no silly questions when it comes to your baby.
Newborn Care in the Hospital
Our pediatricians provide newborn care and hospital rounds at:
- AdventHealth Shawnee Mission
- Menorah Medical Center
- Overland Park Regional Medical Center
If your baby is born at one of these hospitals, there is a good chance one of our providers will meet your family shortly after delivery and begin caring for your newborn before you even leave the hospital.
Breastfeeding & Lactation Support
We understand that feeding your baby can be one of the most rewarding—and sometimes challenging—parts of becoming a parent.
Dr. Aimy Patel is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and is passionate about helping families meet their feeding goals.
We provide support for:
- Breastfeeding
- Exclusive pumping
- Combination feeding
- Bottle feeding
- Milk supply concerns
- Pumping questions
- Returning to work while breastfeeding
- Formula supplementation when needed
Our goal is to provide evidence-based guidance while supporting the feeding plan that works best for your family.
Ongoing Support After Birth
Your relationship with our practice doesn't begin and end at the hospital.
After your baby arrives, we'll continue to partner with you through:
- Newborn visits
- Well-child checkups
- Vaccinations
- Growth and developmental monitoring
- Sick visits
- Behavioral and mental health support
- Adolescent and college-age care
At Cradle Thru College Care, we are proud to care for children from birth through their college years, providing continuity and trusted guidance throughout every stage of development.
